Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

Joyce T. Pittman, 516 W. 15th Pl., Chicago Heights, was arrested on January 10 and charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon when officers traveling eastbound on Sauk Trail at Shabbona Drive observed the vehicle Pittman was driving past a school bus that was stopped with its stop sign extended and children unloading from it, according to police. After stopping the vehicle, police say they observed a strong odor of fresh cannabis emanating from the interior of the vehicle. After a search with a K-9 unit to which police say Pittman “reluctantly complied,” police say they observed a large quantity of a loose green leafy substance, suspect cannabis. Police also located a North American Arms .22 caliber revolver with three live rounds and two spent shell casings in Pittman’s right front jacket pocket. Pittman was also issued citations charging possession of cannabis and passing a school bus while unloading.
A window of a residence in the 100 block of Dogwood Street was reported shattered on January 11.
A window of a residence in the 200 block of Todd Street was reported shattered on January 11.
Police responded to the 400 block of Sherman Street on January 11 to investigate a report of criminal trespass to residence. Police were devised that two male subjects had come into the caller’s residence and fled when confronted. Police are investigating.
Police say $450 cash was stolen from the center console area of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Miami Street on January 12.
Sandra Newcomb, 38, 930 N. Hazel St., Danville, was arrested on January 12 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Mantua Street to investigate a report of criminal damage to property.
Police responded to the Park Forest Police Department on January 12 where a resident requested information on how to get an order of protection. Police provided her with a copy of her Illinois Domestic Violence Rights and explained procedure to seek an Order of Protection at the Markham Courthouse.
Police responded to the 400 block of Winnebago Street to investigate a report of an open door. While investigating, police discovered another door with a shattered window to be slightly ajar. Police contacted the owners and handed the investigation over to the Detective Division.
Police arrested a juvenile and processed the juvenile on three counts of residential burglary when police were dispatched to the first block of Oak Lane to investigate a report of a suspicious person walking through the backyards carrying two televisions at 11:04 AM.
A gold Hamilton woman’s watch valued at $600, a black jewelry box containing costume rings and four valuable rings including a gold wedding ring, valued at $2500 total, credit cards, and a gray Acer laptop valued at $800 are among items reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Talala Street on January 15.
Buberwa E. Kaijage, 38, 3582 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on January 15 and charged with domestic battery and assault when police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Western Avenue to investigate a complaint of a domestic dispute.
Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Lakewood Boulevard on January 15 to investigate a report of identity theft. A resident showed police a letter from the Social Security Administration regarding a tax return filed in 2011 showing that someone had filed a tax return in his name, claiming an income of almost $100,000, which the resident said he never earned. Police provided the resident with a report number and the Park Forest Police Department’s contact information to reference while at the Internal Revenue Service.
Victor M. Rodriguez, 33, 198 E. 26th St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on January 15 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and no valid driver’s license when police responded to the 100 block of Nanti Street to investigate a complaint of two male subjects with flashlights running through a back yard. Upon arriving to the area, police located a pickup truck parked in front of a residence in the 100 block of Nanti Street. The truck was running with lights off and was occupied by Rodriguez who police say he told them that he did not have a driver’s license.
John T. Lee, 33, 248 Fir St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 17 and charged with driving while license was suspended and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when police observed that the vehicle Lee was driving fail to signal a turn from Sauk Trail onto Osage Street, according to police.
An air compressor valued at $125, a cordless drill valued at $35, a roofing nail gun valued at $600, and a radio valued at $120 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Tampa Street on January 17.
Kendell N. Allen, 18, 436 Natoma St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 17 and charged with obstructing a peace officer and possession of cannabis when police responded to the 400 block of Talala Street to investigate a report of a disturbance.
A refrigerator valued at $500 and a microwave oven valued at $200 were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Main Street on January 18.
