Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A karaoke machine valued at $89, school supplies valued at $39, and three dollars in loose coins were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Oswego Street on August 12.

Police say a man attempted to purchase items with a counterfeit $20 bill at a business in the 300 block of Sauk Trail on August 12.

A full-size circular Weber grill valued at $100 and a cooler valued at $30 were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of South Orchard Drive on August 13.

Myteria S. Franklin, 19, 3470 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on August 13 and charged with criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to land and theft when police responded to Court H-4 of Western Avenue to investigate a report of suspicious subjects, one allegedly holding a knife.

A window valued at $500 was reported shattered by a brick at Rich East High School, 300 Sauk Trail, on August 13.

Two credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the Park Forest Aqua Center on August 13.

A Tom-Tom GPS system valued at $350, an iPass transponder valued at $50, and a garage door opener valued at $50 were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Shabbona Drive on August 14.

A man told police two men attempted to rob him on August 14 in the 3400 block of Western Avenue. When he showed them that he had nothing by turning his pants pockets inside out, the subjects allegedly ran away, according to police.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Rutledge Street on August 14 to investigate a residential burglary that had just been discovered. The residents at that address reported coming home to find their house ransacked. However, nothing appeared to be missing.

A juvenile was arrested and charged with burglary when police were dispatched to Dogwood Street at Court D-4 to investigate a report of a suspicious person.

Two windows of a residence in the 100 block of Lester Street were reported shattered on August 14.

Stephen B. Johnson, 23, 38 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 15 and charged with unlawful production of over five cannabis sativa plants after police executed a search warrant at that address.

The rear window of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Minocqua Street was reported shattered on August 15.

A pavilion in Somonauk Park was reported vandalized by spray-paint on August 16. One of the pavilions in Central Park was also reported vandalized by spray paint. Tennis courts in Cedar Park were also discovered to have been vandalized by spray paint.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Forest Boulevard on August 16 to investigate a report of residential burglary. Nothing was reported missing.

Police were met at the Park Forest Police Department on August 16 by a woman who reported a case of fraud. According to police, a man came to her door in the 300 block of Sangamon Street on August 3 and stated that he wanted to perform blacktop work on her driveway and also do concrete repair the next day. The woman agreed and said the men sprayed a black substance on the driveway using equipment from the truck. When completed, one of the men told her he needed $1400 as payment for the job and would return the next day to complete concrete work. The two men never returned. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

A vehicle parked in the 100 block of North Orchard Dr. was reported scratched by a key from the rear tail light to the front headlights on August 16.

A rock was reported thrown through a glass window in a 3500 block of Western Avenue on August 17.

Natasha S. Lewis, 24, 303 Sauganash St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 17 and charged with driving while license was suspended and obstructing identification when a detective on patrol in the area of East Allegheny and 26th Streets conducted a LEADS inquiry on the registration of a vehicle in front of the squad car.

A window of a residence in the first block of Hemlock Street was reported shattered on August 17.

A Garman GPS system valued at $100 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Dogwood Street on August 17.

The rear driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Berry Street was reported shattered on August 17.

A window of a residence in the 100 block of Lester Street was reported shattered by a rock on August 17.

A window of a residence in the 100 block of Lester Street was reported shattered on August 18.

A number of items including a State of Illinois and the handicapped placard were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Blackhawk Drive on August 18.

A burnt orange colored 20-inch Next brand BMX bicycle was reported stolen from the bike rack on the East side of the Park Forest Public Library, 400 Lakewood Boulevard, on August 18.

A black 22-inch Visio flat-screen television and a Nintendo DS game system were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Westgate Drive on August 18.

Derrelle D. Hulbert, 29, 437 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on August 18 and charged with criminal trespass to residence, criminal damage to property, battery, and aggravated assault when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Tampa Street in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.

A juvenile was arrested on August 18 and charged with domestic battery, resisting, and criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arrowhead Street to investigate a complaint of a disturbance.

Brian Primm, 40, 215 Indiana St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 19 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Indiana Street to investigate a complaint of domestic battery.

A Sanyo 52-inch plasma television set valued at $2000, a microwave valued at $100, and a 20-inch television valued at $400 were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Lester Road on August 19.
