Park Forest Police Reports for February 14, 2011

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on January 31 to investigate a complaint of a stolen debit card. A man from Crete told them that he had opened an account at a Park Forest bank but never received his debit card and pin number. He believes the debit card and pin number were stolen from his mailbox. Police continue to investigate.

Stephanie N. Sobota, 170 Lester St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 3 and charged with four counts of endangering the life or health of a child when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Lester Street to investigate a report of a female who was locked out of her residence with four children. Police say Sobota left a party in Chicago Heights with the children and began walking to Park Forest when someone gave her and the children a ride. When she arrived, police say she told them she did not have her keys. Police say she was highly intoxicated, with a breathalyzer reading of .181.

A juvenile was arrested on February 4 and issued a municipal citation charging theft when police were dispatched to the 100 block of South Orchard Drive to investigate a complaint of retail theft.

Nina F. Hutton-McGlown, 41, 18214 Hart Dr., Homewood, was arrested on February 5 and charged with criminal trespass to state supported property and resisting a peace officer when police were dispatched to Forest Trail Middle School in the 200 block of Wilson Street in reference to a report of a disturbance.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Shabbona Drive on February 5 to investigate a report of residential burglary. A woman reported coming home from the store to find that her front door was open. Police continue to investigate.

Jeremiah I. Nesbitt, 20, last known address 1780 Reichert Ave., Sauk Village, was arrested on February 6 and charged with theft and criminal trespass to real property when an officer on patrol in the area of 26th Street and Western Avenue observed Nesbitt walking in the middle of the roadway, southbound on Western Ave., carrying a weed wacker over his right shoulder. Due to the time of the year and weather conditions, the officer suspected that a crime had been committed. Police say Nesbitt admitted that the weed wacker was not his.

A juvenile was arrested on February 6 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Blackhawk Drive to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Trent C. Thompson, 20, 272 Arrowhead St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 6 and charged with misdemeanor possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny Street to investigate a report of a suspicious person.

Four “Sunny” brand tires and 26-inch “Greed” brand tire rims valued at $3000 were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of McGarity Street on February 7.

A cell phone was reported stolen from a student’s gym locker at Rich East High School on February 7.

A black Toshiba laptop computer valued at $300 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Westgate Drive on February 7.

A student at Rich East High School was arrested on February 8 and issued a municipal citation charging disorderly conduct when a Police Liaison Officer and detective were summoned to the locker room regarding a report of a disturbance.
