Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Tameka S. Williams Hardy, 34, 361 Minocqua St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 14 and charged with retail theft when police were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of South Orchard Dr. to investigate a report of retail theft.

A juvenile was arrested on January 14 and charged with possession/storage of a weapon while on school grounds when police were dispatched to Park Forest Academy, 375 Oswego St., to investigate a report of a student allegedly in possession of a knife.

A wallet was reported stolen from the girl’s locker room at Rich East High School on January 15.

Jeremiah D. Brand, 18, 8 Sangamon Ct., Park Forest, was arrested on January 15 and charged with obstructing a police officer when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Sangamon Street to investigate a complaint of an unlawful use of a weapon.

A juvenile was arrested on January 16 and charged with five misdemeanor counts of criminal defacement to property after police investigated a January 15 complaint of criminal damage to property in the 200 block of Sangamon Street.

Marlyn F. Alexander, 49, last known address 26A Dogwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 16 and charged with trespass when police were dispatched to the first block of Dogwood Street to investigate an allegedly intoxicated and out of control subject in a home.

Deon R. Smith, 26, 1137 Union Ave., Chicago Heights, Travis Smith, 19, 1137 Union Ave., Chicago Heights, and Samiuela V. Kuita, 22, 261 Green St., Park Forest, were arrested on January 17 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the first block of East Rocket Circle to investigate a report of a subject who was heard screaming on a 911 call, advising dispatch that subjects were fighting and shooting each other, according to police.

Darius L. Dortch, 35, 1416 Pinewood Ct., University Park, was arrested on January 18 and charged with possession of cannabis and issued traffic citations charging no stop lamps, failure to signal when required, and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, when an officer on patrol observed that the vehicle Dortch was driving was stopped at the corner of Indiana Street and Orchard Drive and did not have functioning stop lamps, according to police.

A window of a residence in the first block of Fir Street was reported shattered on January 18.

A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 22300 block of Central Park Avenue on January 18.

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 400 block of Navajo Street on January 19, shortly after 5 p.m. At approximately 7 p.m., On-Star advised that the vehicle was located in Harvey. The Harvey Police Department located the vehicle and it was towed to their impound yard. The owner was notified. The vehicle appeared to be in good shape, according to police.

Marlyn F. Alexander, 49, transient, according to police, was arrested on January 19 and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer when police were summoned to the lobby of the Park Forest police department regarding a report of an intoxicated female who was allegedly screaming at the records clerk and dispersing clothing items on the floor and sitting area, according to police.

Approximately $1100 were reported stolen from a woman leaving the Norwood Currency Exchange, 820 Norwood Boulevard, on January 19. According to police, the victim said she left the Currency Exchange with approximately $1100 in her hand. As she approached her car, a male subject walked towards her, allegedly pushed her and snatched the currency from her hand, according to police. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 5’10", wearing a black skull hat, a hooded jacket, dark pants, and black high-top gym shoes.

Aluminum gutters valued at $2000, copper pipes valued at $1000, a Kawasaki T-Rex ATV valued at $9500, and an EZ Go golf cart valued at $2600 were reported stolen from a building in the 23400 block of South Western Avenue on January 20.
