Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A juvenile was arrested on December 28 and issued a municipal citation charging underage consumption of an alcoholic beverage when a car in which the juvenile was a passenger was pulled over on Western Avenue because the vehicle’s headlights were not on, according to police. Two passengers in the vehicle, Annette Gandy, 18, 309 Sauk Trail, Park Forest, and Dominique Cotton, 18, 356 Indianwood Boulevard, Park Forest, were arrested and issued municipal citations charging possession of cannabis.
A juvenile was arrested on December 28 and charged with forgery when an officer inside a convenience store in the 400 block of Sauk Trail was handed a counterfeit $20 bill by one of the clerks. The clerk indicated that the juvenile had attempted to purchase items with the counterfeit bill.
A door of a residence in the first block of Somonauk Court was reported damaged on December 29, as if it had been forced open.
Mark Andrews, 22, 321 Springfield St., Park Forest, was arrested on December 30 and charged with criminal trespass when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Berry Street to investigate a report of a suspicious subject.
A red lawnmower valued at $140 was reported stolen from the first block of Forest Boulevard on December 29.
A black and silver Mongoose bicycle was reported stolen from the 300 block of Juniper Street on December 29.
A juvenile was arrested on December 30 and processed on a charge of criminal trespass to land when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Miami Street in reference to a report of a suspicious person.
A resident told police that he had been contacted by his bank and informed that a fraudulent check in the amount of $3800 had been deposited into his checking account and subsequently withdrawn. The resident was advised that he would not be assigned any charges and the money had been restored to his account. The bank requested a police report regarding this incident.
Police were dispatched to the area of Sandburg Street and Illinois Street on December 31 to investigate a report of a reckless discharge of a firearm. Upon arrival, police observed .69 mm shell casings on the street in front of a driveway in the 400 block of Sandburg Street. Police also observed a circular hole in the trunk lid of the vehicle. A mutilated bullet could be seen inside the hole. Police continue to investigate.
Corey G. Perkins, 246 Arcadia St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 1 and issued a municipal citation charging criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arrowhead Street to investigate a report of an unwanted subject was refusing to leave, according to police.
Vernon L. Stout, 33, 236 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 1 and charged with one felony count of driving while driver’s license was revoked when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny Street in reference to a report of a traffic accident. The caller related that a vehicle had struck a tree in the front yard of the residence. Stout was additionally issued citations charging driving too fast for conditions, no proof of insurance, and failure to give information after striking property.
Gary W. Southerland, 53, 5300 Roberts Ridge Road, Monee, was arrested on January 2 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Juniper Street regarding a report of domestic violence.
Police were dispatched to Blackhawk School, 130 Blackhawk St., on January 2, where they observed that someone had vandalized the inside of the trailer, writing various sayings in black marker. Police continue to investigate.
Police say $291.31 was stolen from a cash register of a store in the first block of South Orchard Drive on January 2.
A pane of glass of a window of a residence in the 100 block of Park Street was reported shattered on January 3.
A window of a garage in the 100 block of Westwood Drive was reported shattered on January 3.
A projector with an attached DVD player valued at $700, a Dell laptop computer valued at $200, a Nintendo Wii game console valued at $200, a PlayStation 2 game console valued at $100, and a backpack valued at $30 were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Algonquin Street on January 3.
