Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Brian J. Taylor, 29, 219 Indiandwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested and charged May 9 with a violation of an order of protection and possession of cannabis and processed on an outstanding arrest warrant.
A juvenile was arrested May 8 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Indianwood Boulevard to investigate a report of a disturbance. Two other juveniles were arrested and issued municipal citations charging assault.
A green Huffy BMX bicycle, with silver pegs in the front, valued at $50, was reported stolen from the 400 block of Wildwood Drive on May 9.
Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Shabbona Drive on May 10 to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. Police observed a damaged door as if an unknown suspect(s) was attempting to enter the residence without permission.
A black two-door 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, Illinois license plate 3496284, was reported stolen from the 100 block of Sycamore Drive. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.
Four juveniles were arrested on May 10 and issued municipal tickets charging trespassing when an officer on patrol near the Marshall Field’s building smelled the odor of a fire. A juvenile was charged with outdoor burning. According to police, one of the juveniles admitted to starting a fire in an empty air-conditioning unit.
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Somonauk Street to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. According to police, someone entered a vacant house and vandalized it, damaging drywall and breaking glass.
A juvenile was arrested and charged with computer tampering when officials at Rich East High School discovered that student disciplinary files had been deleted. The files had been deleted from the school’s network server, according to police. Officials were able to recover most of the files that had been deleted.
Latoya N. Butler, 31, 374 Wilshire St., Park Forest, and Gervaise T. Strong, 44, 374 Wilshire St., Park Forest, were arrested on May 11 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the 23400 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of battery.
Sergio Garcia, 20, 433 Navajo St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 11 and charged with possession of cannabis, and issued citations charging no turn signal, no insurance, and driving while license was suspended when an officer observed the vehicle Garcia was driving turn from Nauvoo Street to Neosho Street without the use of a turn signal, according to police.
The driver’s door window of a vehicle parked at the 211th I.C. lot, 520 Homan St., was reported shattered on May 12. A Nintendo Gameboy was reported missing from the vehicle. The front passenger door window of another vehicle was broken also and a stereo was stolen from that vehicle.
Police were dispatched to the first block of Sangamon Court on May 12 in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance. There were no arrests but police do have suspect information.
Russell L. Lowe, 21, 129 Illinois St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 13 and charged with resisting a peace officer, leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and no proof of insurance when police were advised of a hit and run accident that had occurred in the 4400 block of 211th Street in Matteson. Police were advised that the suspect vehicle was at 129 Illinois Street.
A juvenile was arrested on May 13 and charged with aggravated battery to a school employee when an officer working at Rich East High School responded to a report of a disturbance involving a student and teacher.
Christopher R. Perryman, 17, 316 E. 109th St., Chicago, was arrested on May 14 and charged with felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, felony possession of a stolen firearm, possession of cannabis, and operating a motor vehicle with one headlamp when an officer observed that the vehicle Perryman was driving traveling southbound on Western Avenue passing Steger Road had only one headlight illuminated.
All four tires of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Algonquin Street were reported stolen on May 14. Items stolen include four Toyo 22-inch tires valued at $700 and four Mono Block Brutus chrome rims valued at $800.
The roof of a vehicle parked in the east parking lot of Forest Trail Middle School was reported damaged on May 14. Police observed footprints on the trunk and hood of the car.
Four small holes were discovered in three windows of a residence in the 200 block of Westwood Drive on May 14. Police say it appeared the holes were caused by BBs.
