Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A man who was paying for a $.97 candy bar allegedly reached over the counter and removed the cash drawer from a register at Walgreens, 15 South Orchard Drive, on November 11. Police estimate the man stole approximately $100. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male in his early 20s, between 6’ and 6’2" tall, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds with light-brown or hazel eyes.
Five bottles of vodka valued at $74.95 were reported stolen from CVS Pharmacy, 1 Main Street, on November 12.
William D. Mason, 21, 225 Forest Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on November 12 and charged with possession of cannabis, driving while license suspended, and issued a citation charging improper use of registration when an officer on patrol in the area of Western Avenue and 26th Street discovered that the license plate on the back of the vehicle Mason was driving belonged to a different vehicle, according to police.
Jontae F. Evans, 22, 261 Fir St., Park Forest, was arrested on November 12 and charged with possession of cannabis when an officer driving on Forest Boulevard, who was investigating a retail theft, stopped Evans after Evans allegedly ran when he saw the police vehicle on patrol. Police determined that Evans had no involvement in the retail theft.
Imari V. Henry, 18, 319 Springfield St., Park Forest, was arrested on November 13 and charged with one count of domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a 911 open line.
A juvenile was arrested and processed on a charge of possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to Park Forest Academy, 375 Oswego Street, to investigate a report of a student and possession of cannabis.
Steve R. Anderson, 40, 215 Water St., Thornton, was arrested on November 13 and charged with criminal trespass to building when police conducted a search of a building in the first block of North Street.
Police recovered numerous strands of copper wire valued at approximately $3000 when they were dispatched to the 200 block of Grant Street to investigate a report of a suspicious auto.
A 32-inch plasma HDTV television valued at $498, two 19-inch computer monitors valued at $120 each, and a Samsung digital video camcorder valued at $300 were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Algonquin Street on November 14.
A juvenile was arrested and issued a municipal citation charging retail theft when police were dispatched to a business in the 100 block of South Orchard Drive to investigate a report of a retail theft in progress.
Jamar J. Montley, 27, 101 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on November 14 and charged with possession of cannabis and processed on a warrant from the Cook County Sheriff’s Department when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street to investigate a report of a suspicious auto that was parked and occupied by one male subject.
A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle at the Marathon Gas Station, 385 Sauk Trail, on November 14.
Police responded to the first block of Mantua Court on November 15 to investigate an anonymous report of criminal defacement to a residence. Police discovered spray-painted graffiti on the residence.
Four wheel center caps, valued at $100 each, were reported stolen on November 15 from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Sauk Trail.
A 32-inch Vizio flatscreen television, a Dell laptop computer, and a compact desktop hard drive were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on November 15.
Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Manitowoc Street to investigate a neighbor dispute on November 15. The case will be forwarded to the Park Forest Mediation Task Force.
Two students were arrested on November 16 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the intersection of Indianwood Boulevard and Hemlock Street to investigate a complaint of a fight on a school bus.
Vanessa M. Alvarez, 24, 1040 Union Ave., Chicago Heights, was arrested on November 18 and charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a credit card after police were dispatched on November 16 to a residence in the 200 block of Lakewood Boulevard to investigate a complaint of credit card fraud. In the course of their investigation, police discovered that alleged fraudulent charges on a credit card were made in Chicago Heights while the victim was in Tennessee. Police spoke with the owners of a pizza establishment in Chicago Heights, and were called to that establishment when Alvarez allegedly called in a pizza order using the same number of a credit card that had been reported stolen.
Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on November 17 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident reported learning from her bank that a check was drawn on her account in the amount of $2480.40 by a third-party. Police continue to investigate.
Darrell T. Lee, 17, 16314 Finch Ave., Harvey, was arrested on November 17 and charged with criminal trespass to land and processed on a separate charge of residential burglary when police responded to the 200 block of Allegheny Street to investigate a report of an open door/window.
A hammer was reportedly thrown through the living room window of a residence in the first block of Choate Road on November 17.
Reginald V. King, Jr., 23, 4062 Charleston Rd., Matteson, was arrested on November 17 and charged with possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol in the area of Western Avenue and North Street observed that the vehicle in which King was the passenger had no rear registration plate. The driver of that vehicle, Raymond L. Smith, 28, 177 Sycamore Dr., Park Forest, was issued a municipal ticket charging no rear registration plate.
Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Orchard Drive on November 17 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident reported that an unauthorized charge for a notebook computer in the amount of $1266.14 had been placed against her checking account. The Internet transaction had been placed at NewEgg.com, according to police. The transaction was canceled. Police continue to investigate.
A juvenile was arrested on November 18 and charged with battery and disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the east intersection of Allegheny Street and Arrowhead Street to investigate a disturbance on a school bus.
Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on November 18 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident reported discovering there had been $3000 in unauthorized charges using her debit card.
Maya V. Lastarria, 28, 202 Washington St., Park Forest, was arrested on November 18 and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, no front registration plate, and an expired registration when an officer on patrol observed that the vehicle Lastarria a was driving traveling northbound on Central Park Avenue from Westgate Street had no front registration plate and that the registration had expired.
Donald D. Lindsey, 38, 3556 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on November 19 and issued a municipal citation charging open liquor on a public way when detectives on patrol in the area of Western Avenue and Court E-9, observed Lindsey reach into his coat pocket and remove an item that appeared to be consistent with a beverage bottle, concealed in a brown paper bag, unscrew a cap from the item, and take a drink, according to police.
A juvenile was arrested on November 20 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to Park Forest Academy, 375 Oswego Street, to investigate a report of battery.
Tajon D. Revis, 18, 183 Birch St., Park Forest, was arrested on November 20 and charged with retail theft when an officer was flagged down by a store employee of a business in the 100 block of South Orchard Drive advising him of an alleged theft that had just taken place.
