Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.
An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Andrew C. Smith, 25, 601 Beacon Blvd., Chicago Heights, was arrested on September 4 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while license was suspended, and failure to signal when required, when an officer on patrol observed the vehicle Smith was driving allegedly turn onto Ash Street without using a turn signal.
A window of a residence in the 100 block of Fir Street was reported shattered on September 4.
Jasmine Holloman, 20, 430 156th St., Calumet City, was arrested on September 4 and charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of cannabis when a detective on patrol at 11:50 p.m. observed a vehicle parked on the north side of Birch Street with two occupants.
Stanley Ware, 53, 253 Dogwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 4 and charged with one felony count of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, two counts of improper lane usage, and one count of operation of an uninsured motor vehicle when an officer on patrol traveling eastbound on 26th Street from Western Avenue observed the vehicle Ware was driving traveling partially on the right lane and partially on the north shoulder of the roadway, straddling the white fog line, according to police.
Anna Cecilia Oliva, 24, 22 W. Jane St., Glenwood, was arrested on September 5 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when an officer on patrol at 1:41 a.m. observed a vehicle parked in the far southeast corner of the parking lot of Logan Park with its headlights off. The park is closed after dark. Oliva was one of the passengers in the vehicle.
A juvenile was arrested on September 5 and charged with criminal trespass to property when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Blackhawk Drive to investigate a report of an attempted burglary.
A 32-inch flat-screen television was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Arrowhead Street on September 6.
Calvin C. Walls, 31, address unknown, was arrested on September 6 and charged with criminal damage to property. Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Tamarack Street to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. A witness reported looking outside and observing Walls, her daughter’s boyfriend, allegedly shattering the windows of her daughter’s vehicle with a large piece of cement.
Mitchell C. Jackson, 35, 9 Waverly Ct., Park Forest, was arrested on September 6 and charged with violation of an order of protection when police were dispatched to that address in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.
Marese J. Johnson, 23, 1009 Samson Dr., University Park, was arrested on September 6 and charged with resisting a peace officer, and processed on two active warrants issued by the Cook County Sheriff’s Police on burglary charges. Both warrants carried a bond of $150,000 apiece, according to police. Johnson was the passenger in a vehicle which police say turned left onto Western Avenue from Algonquin Street, disobeying the “No Left Turn” sign. The driver was issued citations charging disobeying a traffic control device and improper use of registration.
Percy D. Radcliffe, Jr., 30, 98 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 6 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the first block of Hemlock Street to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.
A brick was thrown through the bedroom window of a residence in the first block of Fir Street on September 8. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.
A Garman GPS a system valued at $100, a green “Bark District” handbag valued at $20, and an MP3 player valued at $50 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Meota Street on September 8. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
Matthew P. Brown, 31, 4 Somonauk Ct., Park Forest, was arrested on September 9 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of domestic battery.
A teenage juvenile was arrested on September 10 and charged with possession of cannabis and a second teenage juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of tobacco by a minor when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Forest Boulevard to investigate a report of a fight.
A resident reported to police on September 10 that while reviewing her bank account statements online, she found unauthorized activity. An unknown offender(s) had withdrawn $200 from her account on September 9, 2009. The money had been withdrawn from a bank in Country Club Hills using the ATM card. She also learned that someone had made a deposit in the amount of $4450 and attempted to withdraw the money. She related that she went to the bank and had the account frozen and then called police. Police continue to investigate.
