Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," "Mr. Smith entered a guilty plea," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Both driver’s side tires of a vehicle parked at the Ludeman Center were reported slashed on August 30.

Jordan T. Herring, 19, 15959 Emerald Ave., Harvey, was arrested on September 1 and charged with criminal trespass to real property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Dogwood Street in reference to a report of criminal trespass to land.

Myron C. Claxton, 28, 17503 Butternut Rd.,  Hazel Crest, was arrested on September 1 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 23400 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a woman screaming for police. Police said they found the victim walking on the sidewalk in that block, a woman who appeared in distress with red, teary eyes and a two-inch bleeding cut on the right side of her neck, along with numerous red marks around her neck, chest, and head.

Kevin E. Wise, 33, 439 Neosho St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 2 and charged with trespassing when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Neosho Street to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Christopher E. Payne, 22, 7 Minocqua Ct., Park Forest, was arrested on September 3 and charged with possession of cannabis when an officer patrolling in the area of Minocqua Street and Shabbona Drive observed suspicious activity, according to police.

Marchaz E. Glass, 22, 129 Shabbona Dr.,Park Forest,  was arrested on September 4 and charged with theft when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Somonauk Street to investigate a report of theft.

Two pairs of sunglasses valued at $30 and an unknown quantity of miscellaneous CDs valued at $50 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Shabbona Drive on September 4

Linda F. Primer, 26, 303 Herndon St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 4 and charged with obstructing identification and resisting a peace officer when Detective Mannino responded to the 300 block of Herndon Street regarding a concerned citizen’s complaint of a suspicious automobile. Primer was also discovered to have an active arrest warrant from the Oakbrook Police Department on a charge of credit card fraud. She was issued a recognizance bond on the Park Forest charges and turned over to the Oakbrook Police Department for processing on the warrant.

A juvenile was arrested on September 5 and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, no valid driver’s license, and criminal trespass to vehicle when police responded to the 300 block of Wildwood Drive to investigate a report of a hit and run. According to police, a victim said he was sitting inside his vehicle looking for something when another vehicle struck the rear drivers side of a car parked on the curb in the 300 block of Wildwood Drive. That vehicle then struck a third, unoccupied vehicle parked in a driveway. The occupants of the first vehicle that was struck took down identification of the vehicle after the driver of the first vehicle, a young-looking female, said she “lived down the street” and will return. Police discovered the registration of the vehicle and contacted the vehicle’s owner who advised that her 13-year-old granddaughter had taken her car without permission.

A car stereo valued at $100 and an unknown amount of coins valued at approximately 6 dollars were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Miami Street on September 5.

Police say a stray Pit Bull attacked a small dog on September 5, biting the dog on the leg, and then jumped through the screen door of a residence in the 200 block of Forest Boulevard where it damaged an Xbox 360 video game system while attempting to exit the residence. The dog was transported to Forest South Animal Hospital.

A 47-inch Vizio LED television valued at $1550 was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Arrowhead Street on September 6.

Javohn L. Williams, 38, 247 Forest Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on September 6 and charged with possession of cannabis when police responded to the 200 block of Allegheny Street to investigate a report of suspicious persons.

Frederick A. Edmond, 34, 516 Concord St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on September 6 and charged with criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and processed on a warrant from Cook County Sheriff’s office when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Nassau Street to investigate a report of a disturbance. According to police, the report was regarding a man armed with an axe. When police arrived, they say they observed Edmon pacing back and forth at the end of the driveway screaming profanities and yelling at any family members in the area. They say they observed a van in the driveway with numerous windows smashed out and a steel lawn rake lying beside the van on the ground. Police say Edmond appeared to be highly intoxicated. He was taken into custody after police deployed a Taser, striking him in the center of his chest, causing him to fall to the grass, according to police.

A watch valued at $300, a gold Elgin watch valued at $300, a gold neck chain with a cross valued at $200, a silver neck chain valued at $580, a Toshiba laptop computer valued at $800, a PlayStation 3 game system valued at $300, an Xbox game system valued at $300, and two sets of diamond earrings valued at $100 were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of East Rocket Circle on September 6.

A couple reported that they were battered and robbed by two male black subjects in the 300 block of Liberty Drive on September 8. The suspects stole a cell phone and wallet after they grabbed the man and threw him to the ground, according to police.

Alyssa M. Jeffries, 21, 223 Miami St., Park Forest, was arrested on September 8 and charged with exceeding the posted speed limit, tinted Windows, and no rear registration light, no valid driver’s license, and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle when police observed the vehicle Jeffries was driving on Western Avenue at Main Street exceeding the posted speed limit, according to police. A passenger in the vehicle provided a name which police say came back clear, no record, when checked through LEADS. The detective asked the passenger her name again, and she spelled the name for the detective with a completely different spelling, according to police. Police discovered that the passenger was Brittany N. Jeffries of the same address as Alyssa, and that she had an outstanding warrant out of Kane County. Brittany was arrested and charged with obstruction and processed on the warrant.

A handicap placard was reported missing from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Arcadia Street on September 8.

An iPod Touch and speakers valued at $250 and a jar containing loose change valued at approximately $50 were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Apple Lane on September 8. Police determined that entry was gained to the residence through a window in the back of the house.

Derek L. Williams, 24, 22101 Karlov Ave., Richton Park, was arrested on September 8 and charged with possession of cannabis when detectives on patrol in an unmarked vehicle in the 300 block of Sauk Trail pulled up beside Williams parked vehicle, and observed him allegedly putting an unknown substance into an open cigar, according to police.

Three windows at Forest Trail Middle School were reported damaged by rocks on September 9.
