Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Police are seeking information regarding an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at a business in the 300 block of Main Street in Park Forest.
Police were called to the business at 7:04 PM. Upon arrival, police saw a man waving for police to come inside the business. According to police, a black male subject wearing a black ski mask, a black hoodie with silver designs, a baseball cap, and black jeans entered the store and pressed a .38 silver revolver against the stomach of an employee at the business. The subject then said, "You know what this is, give me all your money," according to police. The subject made the store owner go to the cash register and removed $230 cash. A customer in the store was ordered to stand near the check-out counter and remove the battery from the store’s cordless phone.
The suspect then ordered the employee to empty his pockets. The employee took his cell phone from his pocket and placed it on the check-out counter, telling the suspect that he had nothing else in his pockets. The suspect took the cell phone and started searching the employee’s pockets, removing a wallet from a back pocket, which contained $350 cash. According to police, the suspect then told the employee, "You lying to me? I should shoot you!"
The suspect then ordered the employee and the customer to remove 27 pairs of True Religion pants valued at $6000, six True Religion shirts valued at $540, 27 miscellaneous baseball caps valued at $940, and six polo shirts valued at $480, and place the items into plastic retail bags.
The employee and the customer were then ordered to a back room of the store and told to face the wall. The subject then began to yell, "I should shoot one of you, I should shoot one of you." The subject ordered the two men into the bathroom where he told the customer to tie the employee’s hands to the handicap rail. The subject then ordered the customer to tie himself up. When the customer said he was unable to tie himself up, the subject became upset, pointed the gun at the customer, and threatened to shoot him.
The subject then ran out through the front entrance of the store.
