Two Women Shot in Park Forest; Police Search for Alleged Offender

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Two women were shot during a reported home invasion Saturday in Park Forest. Police are seeking the alleged offender.

According to a press release from the Park Forest Police Department, at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, the Park Forest Police Department was dispatched to investigate a report of a home invasion in the 300 block of Nassau Street. Two people were reported shot.

Witnesses on the scene stated that the boyfriend of a female resident allegedly shot her along with her sister using a handgun, according to police. The alleged offender then fled the residence in the victims vehicle, according to police.

The suspect is identified as Timothy J. Lucas, a black male, born on September 26, 1978, according to police.

Lucas’ girlfriend, Nokkia Burns, 35, was transported to St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, where she is in stable condition, according to police. The other victim, Victoria Burns, 37, was transported to Christ Hospital and is in stable but guarded condition, according to police. The victims are sisters.

An Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network message was broadcast with the suspect and vehicle information. The vehicle was located shortly afterwards in Richton Park. The vehicle was unoccupied, according to police.

Park Forest Detectives are currently interviewing additional witnesses.
