Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A 16-year-old Monee resident faces a charge of felony disorderly conduct after Park Forest Police investigated possible threats made against Talala School. The Talala School threats were allegedly made during a school bus ride.

While the initial information was provided by a third party, it was eventually learned that, while on a school bus, a 16-year-old Monee resident had allegedly made threatening statements that were believed to be directed at Talala School.
Members of the Park Forest Police Department Investigations Division conducted an investigation and the juvenile was taken into custody that same evening, according to police.
Pursuant to the investigation, the juvenile was petitioned to juvenile court in Will County on a charge of felony disorderly conduct and was transported to the River Valley Juvenile Detention Facility where the juvenile remained in custody as of November 9, according to police.
While the juvenile offender was in custody, extra police personnel were still assigned to Talala School on Friday, November 9, 2018, out of an abundance of caution, police said.
“The Park Forest Police Department encourages all parents to have discussions with their children about the seriousness and possible consequences of using language threating violence or which could be perceived as threatening violence against others,” the department said in a statement, “but especially in connection with schools.”
