Bank of America Calls Police & Security on Shareholders Attempting to Deliver a Letter

Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–February 1, 2012. Unemployed and homeless VOCAL-NY members who recently became Bank of America shareholders attempted to deliver a letter to CEO Brian Moynihan this afternoon (2-1-12) at the New Bank of America Tower in New York City. They were denied access to the building in the lobby and then followed by corporate security to the messaging center, where the police were then called.

The letter they attempted to deliver to Mr. Moynihan explained that they would be joining other shareholders at Bank of America’s annual meeting to confront bank executives about the damage they’ve done to their communities and call for keeping money out of elections, ending tax dodging, investing in jobs and principal reduction for underwater mortgages. In the end, Bank of America accepted the letter.

This action was part of the nationwide Confront Corporate Power movement. Read about it here.
