PITTSBURGH–(ENEWSPF)–October 15, 2012. After one year of protest, the richest 1% of Americans still control over 40% of the nation’s wealth, and the Occupy Movement will continue calling for economic and social justice. Join Occupy Pittsburgh (OP) for The American Dream: Trick or Treat on October 15th, the one year anniversary of OP’s occupation of People’s Park (aka: Mellon Green).
Demonstrators will gather at several locations around the city throughout the day with a street theater inspired game where the 99% compete for candy while the 1% take all the sweets for themselves.
Look for OP participants in Market Square at noon, at the corner of Penn and Highland Avenues at 1 p.m., and at People’s Park on the corner of Grant St. and Sixth Ave. at 4 p.m.
We ask for our fellow 99% to gather with us back at People’s Park with signs and banners starting at 4 p.m. until the end of rush hour to remind Pittsburghers that we are all part of the 99% on the anniversary of Occupy Pittsburgh. The bottom 80% of us may have less than 10% of the nation’s wealth, but we have more than our fair share of moxie.
