Romney Offers No Apologies for Comments that 47 Percent of Americans Believe They are ‘Entitled’ to Help from the Government

CALIFORNIA—(ENEWSPF)—September 18, 2012.  In an impromptu seven minute news conference held late last night, Mitt Romney offered no apologies for the remarks he made to wealthy donors that 47 percent of all Americans believe the government has a responsibility to care for them.  Romney said that his comments were “not elegantly stated” and were spoken “off the cuff.”

In the video Romney said that his role “is not to worry about those people” as he will never be able to convince them that they should “take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

Romney told reporters: “Of course, I want to help all Americans, all Americans, have a bright and prosperous future.”

Romney did not deny that the video was authentic and called for the release of the full video.

Romney claimed his remarks showed the contrast between himself and President Obama.
