Tornadoes Touch Down in Dallas-Fort Worth Area

TEXAS—(ENEWSPF)—April 3, 2012.  Tornadoes touched down near the Dallas-Fort Worth area this afternoon.  The storm tossed tractor trailers like toys and has caused widespread damage to homes and other structures.

Video from the Weather Channel’s helicopter spotted one tornado on the ground five miles east of downtown Dallas. The tornado was on the ground for more than 10 minutes.

All flights at Dallas-Fort Worth airport have been grounded and passengers and airport employees were moved into shelters as the storm system produced multiple funnel clouds.

There have been no immediate reports of injuries.  Officials are continuing to assess the situation.
