BURLINGTON, Vt.–(ENEWSPF)–November 10, 2014 – U.S. Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) issued the following statement today on Department of Veterans Affairs reorganization plans announced by Secretary Robert McDonald:
“Secretary McDonald recognizes that he has a unique opportunity to build on the VA’s strengths. He has embarked on an aggressive recruiting program to use the new tools and resources Congress provided to recruit more doctors, nurses and other health care professionals. Veterans I talk to, and their national organizations, say that once you’re in the system the VA provides very good quality care. The challenge that Secretary McDonald must address is to make sure that veterans get that care in a timely manner.”
