DOD Identifies Two Marine Casualties, July 19, 2011


Washington, DC—(ENEWSPF)–July 19, 2011.  The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Lance Cpl. Jabari N. Thompson, 22, of Brooklyn, N.Y., died July 17 of wounds sustained July 13 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

The Department of Defense also announced today the death of a second Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. 

Lance Cpl. Christopher L. Camero, 19, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, died July 15 of wounds suffered July 6 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.  He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.
