Hug-a-Veteran is Part of Weeklong Veterans Day Observance at DePaul University

Hug-a-Veteran is just one of many weeklong events held by DePaul University in recognition of Veterans Day.

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–November 7, 2013.  There is a long tradition at DePaul University of observing Veterans Day by honoring those who served and are serving in the military. Several special events are planned on DePaul’s Chicagoland campuses in the days leading up to Veterans Day. On Nov. 11, there also will be an interfaith service and luncheon on its Loop Campus.

DePaul has been designated as a military friendly school by Victory Media. Last fall, about 500 student veterans were enrolled. With their number and impact on campus growing notable in recent years, DePaul established an Office of Veterans Affairs in 2009, to centralize and expand its outreach. They are hosting this year’s observance along with the Student Government Association. More information at http://studentaffairs.depaul.edu/va.
