Atico International USA Recalls Halloween Mini Projection Lights Due to Burn Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Five Below


WASHINGTON, D.C.–(ENEWSPF)–November 1, 2012. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Halloween Mini Projection Lights

Units: About 3,000

Distributor: Atico International USA Inc., of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Hazard: The mini projection lights can overheat and melt, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Atico International USA has received two reports of incidents, including one minor burn injury.

Description: This recall involves plastic Halloween mini projection lights. They are about 6 inches long and have Halloween-themed black designs on them. They were sold in orange, green and purple. The projection lights came in a cardboard blister pack with a purple background. The phrase “Ghouloween” is printed on the upper left-hand corner.

Sold exclusively at: Five Below stores nationwide during September 2012 for $1.25.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mini projection lights and contact Atico International to receive a full refund.
