Champion Nutrition Recall of Chocolate Peanut Butter


Sunrise, FL–(ENEWSPF)–July 12, 2010.  Champion Nutrition is recalling five lots of Champion Nutrition Chocolate Peanut Butter Pure Whey Protein 5lb. Product was distributed domestically throughout the U.S. This recall is being initiated due to an incomplete allergen statement for peanuts in the ingredient section of the label. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. However, peanuts are prominently displayed on the principal display panel, the flavor Chocolate Peanut Butter is prominent and there is a statement that the product was manufactured in a facility that uses peanuts, tree nuts etc.

There have been no reports of adverse events associated with the identified products. However, your assistance is appreciated and necessary to prevent consumer illness.

Consumers who purchased the product can contact Champion Nutrition for instructions on a return and refund or replacement product at 1-800-225-4831 Monday thru Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm EST.

The product lot numbers for the recalled product can be found on the bottle. Product is contained in a white plastic screw cap 5 lb container. Lot code number is located between the neck of the bottle and the label.

No other varieties or flavors of products distributed by Champion Nutrition are affected by this recall.
