Girls’ Ruffle Vests Recalled by The Children’s Place Due to Choking Hazard


Washington, D.C.–(ENEWSPF)–October 29, 2010.  The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: White Ruffle Outdoor Vests

Units: Approximately 3,300

Importer: The Children’s Place Services Company, LLC of Secaucus, N.J.

Manufacturer: Jintan Haotefu Garments Co., Ltd.

Hazard: Metal snaps may detach from garment causing a choking hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: None.

Description: The girls’ ruffle vests are quilted and “chalk” colored with a hood trimmed in fake fur. The vests have a label sewn to the inside side seam of the lining with number #587754 printed on it.

Sold at: Online at The Children’s Place Services LLC website, www.childrensplace.com, in September 2010 for about $20.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Customers who purchased the recalled product online will be mailed a postage-paid envelope with instructions for returning the vest(s) for a full refund.
