Volvo Recall of Certain Model Year 2007 S80 Passenger Cars

Washington, DC—(ENEWSPF)—July 29, 2011.

Summary: Volvo is recalling certain model year 2007 S80 passenger cars manufactured from March 8, 2006 through May 16, 2007. The power steering reservoir return hose may have been incorrectly routed, which can result in increased pressure in the power steering system. The power steering return hose may burst at the steering gear due to the increased pressure resulting in a loss of power steering fluid.

Consequence: The driver may experience a sudden loss of power steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Volvo dealers will inspect the routing of the power steering reservoir return hose and make repairs as necessary, free of charge. The Safety Recall is expected to begin during August 2011. Owners may contact Volvo at 201-768-7300.

Notes: Volvo Safety Recall No. R246. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
