CHICAGO –(ENEWSPF)—June 8, 2017. Indivisible Chicago released the following statement in response to the release of Former FBI Director James Comey prepared testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
“The release of James Comey’s prepared testimony documenting his interaction with President Trump demonstrates a clear intent to obstruct justice on the part of President Trump. Indivisible Chicago calls upon the members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to follow up on this statement and determine the extent to which the President attempted to impede the investigation into former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
Regardless of the outcomes of Mr. Comey’s testimony before the Senate, the need for an independent commission is abundantly clear and Indivisible Chicago calls on all the members of the Senate to demand a transparent investigation into why President Trump felt it necessary to obstruct Mr. Comey’s investigation.”
