Tea Partiers Have No Right To Call For Civility: Their Genesis Was in Screaming

Commentary
By Gary Kopycinski

Please. Spare me the Tea Party and their sanctimonious cries for "civility" during Presidential and Vice Presidential debates.

Paul Ryan, the darling of the Tea Party, and his fellow Tea Partiers, had the nerve to suggest that Vice President Joe Biden was not "polite" during the most-recent debate.

Really?

Do those crying out from the Tea Party actually remember the genesis (no, I’m not being Biblical here) of the Tea Party?

The Tea Party is the group that got their start shouting down Congressmen and Senators in town hall meetings, screaming at the top of their lungs, drowning out all voices but their own.

Was any of that the least bit polite?

Do you really remember their nonsense?

Screaming at Congressmen and Senators in town hall meetings, screaming at the top of their lungs, drowning out all voices but their own.

Screaming defines the Tea Party. If you want civility, check out the Coffee Party.

As for the Tea Party?

They, and their Ayn Rand followers, should be able to handle a lively debate.

So, please, keep your mouths shut when President Obama speaks up for himself Tuesday. He’s not being rude. He’s just debating.

Remember this?
