“After weeks of secret, backroom meetings, Senate Republicans have finally released their TrumpCare bill. After reading it, I know why they worked so hard to hide it – it’s a complete and utter disaster.
Your premiums will rise, your insurance will cover less and millions will lose their health insurance just so the super-rich can get a $37,000 tax cut.
When President Trump called his legislation “mean;” for once, he wasn’t lying.
If Republicans succeed in passing TrumpCare, it’s Illinois families who will suffer so a tiny fraction of Americans can get a massive tax break.
I urge my colleagues to talk to patients and families; hear their stories; understand their struggles. If they do, there is no way they will vote for this disastrous bill.”
