Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein
CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–September 6, 2016. Green Party Presidential candidate Jill Stein will visit Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood on Thursday, Sept. 8th, and will speak with local leaders and activists during a walking tour of the area.
The “reality walk” will leave from the northeast corner of Columbus Park, at Quincy & Central, at 1:30 PM. The walk will proceed east to Laramie Ave., north on Laramie to Madison Ave., and west on Madison to the closed Emmet Elementary School building at Madison & Central.
South Austin is an underserved area of Chicago with many unemployed residents and a very high rate of gun violence. Dr. Stein and local leaders will be stopping to speak with the local citizens about their lives, their needs, and their hopes for the next President.
Dr. Stein will make brief remarks with local leaders in front of the Emmet Elementary building, and will be available for questions following her remarks.
The reality walk precedes Dr. Stein’s Chicago rally in Uptown later Thursday night, which will be held at the Preston Bradley Center on the corner of Lawrence & Sheridan from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
