Matteson, IL-(ENEWSPF)- For the sixth time, Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host what has become an Annual Hiring Event for residents of the 2nd Congressional District. The event will take place on Friday, October 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the Lan-Oak Park District, 2550 178th St., Lansing.
More than 50 employers with active job openings are expected to be in attendance.
Prior to the Hiring Event, Rep. Kelly will sponsor a separate event, a free Job Readiness Workshop on Wednesday, October 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the Community Room of the Calumet City Public Library, 660 S. Manistee Avenue, Calumet City. Instructors from the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership will take the helm offering job-seekers advice and counsel on interview etiquette and skills, and how to prepare a resume.
Companies and agencies participating in this year’s Hiring Event include FedEx Ground, UPS, ComEd, Metra Rail, Comcast, the U.S. Post Office, Advocate Health Care, Home Depot, and Uber.
