Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Park Forest Police are warning residents about a series of paintball attacks that occurred through the Village yesterday evening and early this morning.

You read that right: paintball attacks.

Paintball shots are far from harmless. Meant to be used in games, some have turned paintball guns into weapons.  A report from KTLA in Los Angeles show pictures of victims with what appear to be painful welts.

According to police, in the evening hours of Wednesday, September 26, 2018 and the morning hours of September 27, 2018, “there were several incidents in which paintballs were shot from vehicles traveling through Park Forest,” police said in a statement.

These paintballs struck residents, vehicles, and houses, according to police.

The morning incidents occurred while students were making their way to school.

Descriptions of the offending vehicles vary, according to police. These include “a newer silver or white minivan and a tan or gold SUV, possibly a BMW,” the statement said.

The incidents occurred in the north, middle, and south of Park Forest: Eastgate, Lincolnwood, and the area just south of Sauk Trail.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents or who may have images or surveillance video capturing any suspicious vehicles is urged to call the Park Forest Police Department at 708-748-4701.

“Extra patrols are ongoing in an attempt to identify and arrest the offenders,” police said.

“Additionally, we urge all residents to be aware of their surroundings and call police if they see any suspicious activity,” police said.

Don’t hesitate. Make the call.
