6.7 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Near Coast of Honshu, Japan

Honshu, Japan-(ENEWSPF)- The United States Geological Survey issued a report on a magnitude 6.7 earthquake 54 miles southeast of Hachinohe, Honshu, Japan.

The epicenter is located 32 km (19.9 miles) beneath the earth’s surfact 88 km (54 miles) SE of Hachinohe, Honshu, Japan; 99 km (61 miles) ENE of Morioka, Honshu, Japan; 157 km (97 miles) SE of Aomori, Honshu, Japan; and 524 km (325 miles) NNE of TOKYO, Japan.

The time recorded for the incident is Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 21:50:48 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), or 04:50:48 PM (CDT) – Central Daylight (Chicago).

No Tsunami warnings have been issued.
