Another Earthquake, This One 5.2 Magnitude, Strikes Vanuatu


Vanuatu-(ENEWSPF)- The United States Geological Survey issued a report of another earthquake, this one 5.2 magnitude, striking Vanuatu.

Clocking in on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 01:24:13 UTC, or 08:24:13 PM (CDT) – Central Daylight (Chicago), the quake struck at a depth of 32.9 km (20.4 miles).

The epicenter was 94 km (58 miles) S of PORT-VILA, Efate, Vanuatu; 159 km (98 miles) NW of Isangel, Tanna, Vanuatu; 331 km (205 miles) N of Tadine, Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia; and 1837 km (1141 miles) ENE of BRISBANE, Queensland, Australia.

There is not tsunami warning, watch or advisory in effect.
