Washington, DC—(ENEWSPF)–November 10, 2014. Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) announced that the Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a grant to the American Academy of Pediatrics in Elk Grove Village in the amount of $34,977.
This grant will be used to support evidence-based childhood obesity treatment and improve access and systems of care, and was awarded through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
“I am proud that the American Academy of Pediatrics continues to achieve and receive grants from the federal government,” said Congresswoman Duckworth. “These grants are vital to improving the healthcare in our communities and making the 8th District a great place to live, work and raise a family. The taxpayers of Illinois contribute more than their fair share to the Federal government and I am pleased to see that resources are coming back to the 8th Congressional District.”
