Chicago, IL—(ENEWSPF)—October 11, 2011. On Sunday, October 16 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., discover the mysteries of the Calumet when you ‘Bike the Calumet.’
The 12 mile ride will start at Harborside International Golf Course, 11100 S. Doty Ave. East, Chicago.
Along the ride, you will see Chicago’s “second lake” and other major river, marshes, migratory birds, and legal and illegal landfills. This tour features newly acquired property of the Chicago park District, and a world class golf course built on top of a garbage dump!
The event is sponsored by the Southeast Environmental Task Force, in partnership with Friends of the Parks, Calumet Ecological park Association, Lake Calumet Vision Committee, Chicago Department of Environment and the Chicago Park District.
There is a registration fee of $10 for adults and $5 for anyone under 16.
