Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An Amazon Kindle Fire valued at $400, a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer valued at $350, three Xbox video games valued at $180, two wireless black Xbox controllers valued at $120, and one Xbox game system valued at $300 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Springfield Street on May 27.

A digital camera, a 4 GB memory card valued at $20, 10 miscellaneous Xbox video games valued at $400, two Xbox 360 controllers valued at $120, one Xbox 360 videogame system valued at $300, a 19-inch flat-screen television valued at $200, a 52-inch black flat-screen television valued at $700, a laptop computer valued at $300, and a silver and black tablet computer valued at $500, two sets of diamond earrings valued at $700, a 47-inch flat-screen television valued at $800 are among the items reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street on May 27.

A pair of blue and gold sunglasses was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Dogwood Street on May 29.

A resident told police on May 29 that someone had taken her debit card from her wallet after learning that her account was -$263.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arrowhead Street on May 31 to investigate a report of two subjects carrying a television away from a residence. Police recovered the television but the alleged offenders had already run away, according to police. Police discovered that two televisions had been stolen from another residence in that block.

A handheld Nintendo game system and $164 cash were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Illinois Street on May 31.

Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Homan Avenue on June 1 to investigate a burglar alarm. Police discovered a door that had been forced open. The interior of the residence was checked with negative results. Police say nothing appeared to have been taken.

Leashia M. Jones, 19, 6230 Streamwood Ln., Matteson, was arrested on June 1 and issued a municipal citation charging disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Wilshire Street to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Jamall A. Patrick, 23, 3552 Western Ave., Park Forest, was arrested on June 1 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the 3400 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Martez J. Blackman, 21, 51B Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 2 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Lester Road in reference to a report of domestic battery.

Two windows of a residence in the 300 block of Mohawk Street were shattered by bricks on June 2. A resident was home at the time.

Police issued a municipal citation to an occupant of a residence in the 3500 block of Western Avenue after residents in the area complained that an unlicensed "candy store" was inhoate operation. The citation charges "operating a food dealers business without the required license."

A black leather briefcase was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Wilshire Street on June 2.

A blue 26-inch Trek men’s mountain bike valued at $150 was reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Bigelow Road on June 3.

Two juveniles, one from Park Forest and the other from Chicago Heights, were arrested on June 4 when police were dispatched to the first block of Choate Road to investigate a report of a residential burglary in progress. A third subject believed to be involved in the burglary was not found. Cook County Forest Preserve police officers, officers from South Chicago Heights, and a Chicago Police Department helicopter that happened to be nearby responded to the area to assist.

A window of a residence in the 200 block of Indianwood Boulevard was reported shattered on June 4.

A bright red GT Zone BMX bicycle valued at $450 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Juniper Street on June 5.

Police were dispatched to Park Forest Academy, 375 Oswego Street, on June 5 at 10:34 PM to investigate a burglar alarm. Police discovered that an office had a broken window and discovered two pieces of asphalt lying on the office floor. No items appeared to be missing or disturbed. Police did not locate any suspects.

Darren Jackson, 49, 62 Ash St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 5 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and issued traffic citations charging improper turn and failure to wear a properly fastened safety belt when an officer traveling westbound on Arcadia Street from Arrowhead Street observed that the vehicle Jackson was driving was "driving erratically," according to police. A passenger in the vehicle, Shelonda Taggett, 47, 62 Ash St., Park Forest, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

An Xbox 360 game system valued at $300 and $175 cash were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Lakewood Boulevard on June 6.

A blue Schwinn mountain bike valued at $75 was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Mohawk Street on June 7.
