ISAF Joint Command Operational Update, January 13, 2013

KABUL, Afghanistan–(ENEWSPF)–January 13, 2013  – An Afghan and coalition security force arrested a Taliban leader in Nad ‘Ali district, Helmand province, today.

The leader transported and emplaced improvised explosive devices and armed insurgent fighters in the district.

The security force also detained two suspected insurgents as a result of the operation.

An Afghan and coalition force detained two suspected insurgents during a security operation in search of a Taliban leader in Baghlan-e Jadid district, Baghlan province, today. The leader controls a group of fighters responsible for attacks against Afghan and coalition forces.

East

An Afghan and coalition force detained two suspected insurgents during a security operation in search of a Taliban leader in Khugyani district, Nangarhar province, today. The leader provides weapons to Taliban fighters operating in Khugyani district. During the operation, the security force seized improvised explosive device-making materials and multiple weapons and ammunition.
