Magnitude 6.5 Earthquake Strikes Off Coast of Northern California

Washington, D.C.-(ENEWSPF)- A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck off the coast of northern California at 8:49 a.m. CT.

The quake rumbled 157 km (97 mi) W of Ferndale, California, 166 km (102 mi) W of Fortuna, California, 168 km (104 mi) W of Eureka, California, 176 km (109 mi) WSW of Arcata, California, and 451 km (279 mi) WNW of Sacramento, California.

It hit at a depth of 12.1 km, according to the USGS.

There are no reports of damages or injuries.
