Attorney General Madigan Issues Statement After President Obama’s Speech in Galesburg

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–July 24, 2013.  Attorney General Lisa Madigan released the following statement after attending President Obama’s speech in Galesburg today:

“I was encouraged to hear President Obama discuss his plans to move our economy forward. As Attorney General, I have seen firsthand the harm done to our state in the wake of the economic collapse. Entire communities have been ravaged by job losses and the implosion of the housing market. By putting hard-working, middle-class families at the forefront of his agenda, the President knows that our country will not prosper until we lift up everyone, not just the privileged few. I applaud the President’s leadership and his vision for a future in which every American can obtain a good job, earn a quality education, find a safe home, secure a retirement and access affordable health care.”
