Park Forest Mayor On Winter Storm Preparations In Village

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Mayor John Ostenburg released the following statement regarding the blizzard Park Forest and the Chicagoland area are currently enduring:

The Village of Park Forest has been engaged since early on Monday, January 31, in preparations for the pending snowstorm to hit the Chicagoland region.

Members of the Village staff have prepared an operational plan to deal with various situations that could result from the effects of the storm. To the greatest extent possible, the Village will assure that all services – especially those of an emergency nature – are carried out on behalf of our residents.

It is important for residents to understand that the National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch and hazardous weather conditions for our region.

TRAVEL SHOULD NOT BE UNDERTAKEN UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

The Village of Park Forest plan for dealing with the snowstorm and its possible effects are posted on the Village website, www.villageofparkforest.com, and also are being reported on local Cable Television Channel 4. Please visit the website, or Channel 4, for specific details.

The Village plan includes the designation of two local warming centers:

  1. The Park Forest Police Department, 200 Lakewood Boulevard, open 24-hours per day.
  2. The Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
