Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)- Meet Rich East High School Stellar Student Taylor Gunby, a lifelong resident of Park Forest, each and every 17 years of her young life, currently a senior at Rich East.
She currently ranks 8th in the Rich East class of 2013. Her favorite class is AP Chemistry. Why? "I love chemistry."
Long-term goals? "In five years, I want to begin my pharmacy internships. In 10 years, I want to be working in a chemical lab creating new medicine, hopefully finding a cure for cancer."
Meet Taylor Gunby:
Are you a Park Forest Resident? How long? Yes, for 17 years (all of my life).
At Rich East all four years? Yes. I have been at Rich East all four years.
What do you like most about Rich East? I like the athletic clubs and the different courses and activities the school offers.
Activities/Athletics/Clubs participated in? Special awards? I played girls basketball for two years. I was also the manager for boys basketball and football and basketball for two years. In this my senior year, I will also throwing shot and discus for the girls track team.
GPA/Class Rank. My Grade Point Average is 3.685. My Class rank: 8th out of 214.
Favorite classes and why. AP Chemistry. I love chemistry.
Favorite teachers and why. My favorite teachers are: Ms. (Marisa) Ptak, she is very helpful and very understanding; Ms. (Sherrie) Towery, she’s awesome; Mr. (Thomas) Volz, He’s hilarious; Mrs. (Stephanie) Tijerina, she’s a sweetheart; Coach (George) Leonard, He is a fun coach and a nice and funny guy.
ACT: I received a 21 on the ACT.
AP Exams/Scores: AP Language and Composition 3.
Areas met or exceeded on PSAE (Prairie State Achievement Exam): I met and exceeded in Reading and Science.
College choice? Major? I plan on attending Western Illinois University where I will major in Pharmacy.
What are you listening to on your iPod these days? I am listening to 2 Chainz and Trey Songs.
What is the last book you have read? The last books I have read are: “Fifth Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed,” both by E.L. James,
Favorite TV Shows? My favorite TV shows are: “Rosanne,” “Love and Hip Hop,” and “Swamp People.”
Coffee or Tea, hot or cold? I hate coffee and tea!
Junk Foods? Pizza, Mickey D’s, Taco Bell? I. love Beggars Pizza!
Places that you’d most like to visit? I want to visit Hawaii, Puerto Rico, California and the Bahamas.
Clubs, hobbies/church? I go to church on Sundays.
Where do you want to be in five years? In ten years? In five years, I want to begin my pharmacy internships. In 10 years, I want to be working in a chemical lab creating new medicine, hopefully finding a cure for cancer.
