Park Forest Vet With Suspended License, Dr. Gary Robert Friederich, 64, Now Arrested


Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– From the Southtown Star:

A Park Forest veterinarian whose license was again recently suspended is now criminally charged in connection with dogfighting, Cook County sheriff’s police said Friday.

Dr. Gary Robert Friederich, 64, is accused of failing to report suspected dogfighting and lying about rabies vaccines after a three-month undercover investigation by sheriff’s officers. He was arrested at his Palos Park home Thursday, authorities said.

The doctor, who owns the Park Forest Animal Clinic, 2348 Western Ave., is charged with six counts of violating the Illinois Veterinary Medicine and Surgery Practice Act.

He is scheduled to appear in Cook County Circuit Court in Markham on Jan. 31. He also has a separate hearing on Dec. 21 at the Thompson Center in Chicago to defend his license.
