New website designed to provide user-friendly experience, improved navigation and functionality and better access to the NVAM Collection Online, a database of art from the permanent collection
Chicago, Ill.–(ENEWSPF)–September 26, 2013 – The new website for the National Veterans Art Museum (NVAM) went live at midnight on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Available at www.nvam.org, the site offers an entirely redesigned user interface, prioritizing the user experience. Visitors now have easier access to high resolution images through the award-winning NVAM Collection Online as well as videos, and upcoming exhibits and events.
Designed with the user experience in mind, the website has employed the latest technology to make the site compatible with current browsers and will anticipate and be responsive to future browsers.
In addition, the site makes the museum’s five organizational pillars–arts, education, therapeutic art, civics and international outreach–easy to browse and explore. The arts are prominently highlighted in the NVAM Collection Online (NCO), a database of art and biographies of artists launched in 2011. Additional images and resources are continually being added to the NCO, and developers have indicated that a Curator’s Only section will launch in the coming months.
The homepage will highlight upcoming events and exhibitions, and visitors can stay up-to-date with the NVAM’s latest news and opportunities for artists. Visitors will be able to share events and pages that interest them with others across Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
Visitors are encouraged to share their feedback on the new website by posting a comment on the NVAM’s Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/NationalVeteransArtMuseum).
