Washington, D.C.–(ENEWSPF)–December 5, 2013. A new analysis released today by the Center for American Progress finds that carbon pollution resulting from mining and drilling on America’s forests, grasslands, and other public lands has completely canceled out those same lands’ ability to absorb carbon from the air. In fact, the scales have now tipped, with public lands doing more harm than good when it comes to carbon pollution because of land management practices that favor energy production.
