Cook County Board of Commissioners Confirms New Medical Examiner

Chicago-(ENEWSPF)- Today the Cook County Board of Commissioners confirmed the appointment of Dr. Cina as Cook County Medical Examiner, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle said in a prepared statement.
"Dr. Cina brings to the county two decades of experience in the field of forensic pathology, as well as outstanding credentials and executive experience. He is currently the associate medical director and chief administrative officer of the University of Miami’s Tissue Bank. He previously served as deputy chief medical examiner for Broward County, Florida.," the statement said.
“I’d like to thank all those who supported Dr. Cina’s candidacy and confirmation – from the commissioners who overwhelmingly approved his appointment to the community stakeholders who spoke positively on his behalf,” President Toni Preckwinkle said. “Dr. Cina has the professional and management skills to continue the reform efforts we have already begun at the Medical Examiner’s office. We are fortunate to have Dr. Cina on our team, and we look forward to working with him to transform the Medical Examiner’s Office into an exemplary facility.”
Dr. Cina will replace Dr. Nancy Jones, who announced her retirement on June 19, effective July 31.
