Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- On Monday of this week there was a need to do an emergency water and sewer repair in the intersection of Suwanee and Miami Streets. As Public Works crews began to dig into the street on this issue, a huge sink hole was discovered.
Looking at the picture, your jaw might drop.
This gaping hole was protected on the surface only by the thick layer of asphalt covering it.
“It is amazing that a heavy vehicle did not collapse it over the years,” said Village Manager Tom Mick.
The repair work has since been carried out.
