Park Forest Fire Department Seeks Help From Public Re: ‘Suspicious’ Central Park Wetlands Fire

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Officials at the Park Forest Fire Department placed a statement on the department’s Facebook page regarding Thursday night’s fire in the Central Park Wetlands. The department is seeking help from the public regarding the start of the fire, which the post calls "suspicious."

The statement follows:

On Thursday, January 5 at 2045 hours the Park Forest Fire Department was dispatched to Central Park for a field fire. Upon arrival firefighters found a large fire in the dry vegetation of the wetlands. Firefighters allowed the fire to take its natural course and stood-by to monitor the situation for approximately 2 hours until the fire reached the grass line and extinguished itself.

Evidence was collected at the scene by Park Forest Police who are currently investigating this suspicious fire.
