California National Guard Heads Out to Fight Fires, Assist With Hurricane Irma

About 350 California National Guard soldiers train at Camp Roberts, California, led by about 50 experienced California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection firefighters. The soldiers were divided into 12 hand crews and were led through six stations where they practiced digging trenches, chopping logs and cutting fire lines with hand tools.
