1950s Park Forest House Museum

Saturday March 1 will be the last day to see the museum decorated for Valentine’s Day.  Since all of this week has been February, I decided to leave the 1950s Valentine’s Day party in the classroom.  Christmas in December and Valentine’s Day in February are the holidays we decorate for.  We will have a touch of Easter and a shamrock or two during March.  If you receive the AARP Bulletin, check your March 2008 issue for an announcement of the museum’s re-opening.  Their editors actually called us after seeing the Tribune.  People have been traveling to the museum from all over Chicagoland.  If you are interested in helping the society show the museum, please contact me at parkforesthistory1 at yahoo.com.  We need more people so we can have two docents each Saturday.  We  also need to have people trained to do showings by appointment.  We are all proud of Park Forest’s history.  Come out and help us tell the story!  You do not have to be a Park Forest resident, or even a member of the society to help out.
