Armed Robbery on Hemlock

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– A man reported being robbed at gunpoint while walking late at night on Hemlock St.

Police were dispatched to Court H-6 on Hemlock St. on April 12 at approximately 11:40 p.m. to investigate an armed robbery. Officers Obremski, Busse Greer and Corporal Boulden responded.

A man told police he was walking on the sidewalk southbound on Hemlock St. from Indianwood Blvd. when he observed a red minivan illegally parked on the west side of Hemlock facing north. The vehicle was parked almost directly across from the north entrance of Court H-6 and was occupied by one subject.

The man continued to walk southbound and observed a black Ford Explorer parked on the east side of Hemlock. There were two subjects in the vehicle.

As he approached the north entrance of Court H-6, he observed the Explorer move from its location and drive toward him. The vehicle then stopped and the subject in the passenger seat exited the vehicle and walked toward him. The man then observed a subject exit the minivan and begin to walk toward him as well.

The second subject had a silver revolver in his right hand, according to the victim.

Both subjects approached the victim and the man with the gun stated, “You know what it is,” according to police.

The first suspect allegedly took the man’s cell phone while the second man instructed the victim to get down on the ground. The victim dropped to his knees. One of the suspects allegedly removed approximately $100 from the victim’s pants pocket. The second suspect ordered the victim to not move from the sidewalk. Both suspects then returned to their respective vehicles. The vehicles fled the area northbound on Hemlock St. toward Indianwood Blvd.

The victim then ran to his residence where he called police.

The first suspect was described as an African American male, 30-35 years old, 5’09”-6’00” with a light complexion, weighing between 230 and 250 pounds wearing a dark jacket with a light colored t-shirt underneath. The man had longer black hair, possibly braided, according to the victim. The second suspect was an African American male, 30-35 years old, 5’09”-6’00” with a dark complexion, weighing between 170-200 pounds with short hair, wearing a light colored t-shirt and jeans.
