Bank Employee Charged with Felony Theft


Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– An employee at First Midwest Bank in Park Forest was charged with two counts of felony theft last week.

The bank manager, Latonya Burnett, reported being contacted by a representative from a local business related that the restaurant bank balance was short $834 after a deposit made on December 6, 2008, and another deposit was short $1313 after a deposit made on December 27, 2008.  Ms. Burnett advised the bank’s Fraud Department to conduct an investigation. The bank’s internal investigation determined that Kate E. Kaszubski, 26, 184 Laura Lane, Chicago Heights, was working in the drive-through section of the bank on the days and times the deposits were made, according to police.

Kaszubski gave statements to both Burnett and police, according to police.

Kaszubski was arrested on January 8 and charged with two counts of felony theft.
