Dawn Raid on Miami St. Yields Drugs, Cash, One Arrest


Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Miami St. early Saturday morning on September 15 which resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of drugs and cash.

On Wednesday, September 12, 2007, an officer from the Park Forest Police Department prepared an affidavit for search warrant for 405 Miami and for the person of Isaiah J. Rodriguez-Shaw, and brought it before a judge at the Markham Courthouse.  The judge signed the search warrant at 11:30 a.m., according to the report

On Saturday, September 15, just before 6:00 a.m., Detective Commander Green, Commander Mannino, Detective Corporal LoSchiavo, Detectives Rzyski, Varga, and DeVries, Officers Houcek, Shulman, and Sweitzer with K-9 Aaron and the South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT) responded to 405 Miami to execute the search warrant.  After knocking and announcing their presence, the SSERT made entry into the residence. The report says that upon entering the living room, police observed a man later identified as Isaiah J Rodriguez-Shaw, allegedly running from the living room towards a bedroom.  Isaiah was detained in the doorway to the bedroom, according to the report. 

The report says officers observed in plain view on the living room table “a green plant-like material – suspect cannabis.”  Two other adults present in the house were also detained.  Due to the suspect cannabis being observed in plain view in a common part of the house, all three subjects were taken into custody for further investigation and transported to the Park Forest Police Station.

During a search of the residence, Officer Houcek recovered the following items: a green, plant-like material, suspect cannabis, from the living room table; one clear plastic Ziploc bag containing a green plant-like material, suspect cannabis, approximately 370 grams; one clear plastic tied-off baggie containing a white powder substance – suspect cocaine (approx. 6 grams); one clear plastic tied-off bag containing a white powder substance – suspect cocaine (approx. 22 grams); two clear plastic Ziploc bags each containing a green plant-like material – suspect cannabis (approx. 457 grams and 459 grams); a baggie with green-plant-like material, suspect cannabis (approx. 48 grams).

Police also recovered approximately $2,000.00 cash from the residence.

According to the report, Isaiah stated he has been living at the residence for the past few months.  To raise extra money to help with the rent and other bills, Isaiah allegedly stated that has been marijuana and sometimes cocaine.  Isaiah allegedly stated that all of the cannabis and cocaine that police recovered from inside his residence at 405 Miami belonged to him.

Isaiah Jose Rodriguez-Shaw, 27, 405 Miami St., Park Forest, was charged with felony charges for possession of cannabis (500-2000 grams), possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, possession of controlled substance (15-100 grams), and possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver.

The other adults at the residence were released without charges.
